This is a special session of our Brains@Bay Meetup.

Neuroscientist and entrepreneur Jeff Hawkins, co-founder of Numenta, will be talking about his new book A Thousand Brains: A New Theory of Intelligence. This will take the format of a fireside chat between me (Lucas) and Jeff, where we will cover the main aspects of the theory, what it represents for neuroscience and machine learning and how can we incorporate these breakthrough ideas into our existing learning algorithms.

To prepare for this conversation, we would like to hear from you what aspects of the Thousand Brains Theory you want us to discuss in the chat. A link will be available one week before the event, where you can ask questions in advance, and we will try to answer as many as possible in the course of our conversation.

To wrap up, we will directly address the most voted questions that weren’t covered. And if it’s your question, you are welcome to join the conversation and ask them “in person”.

We are really excited about this event and the chance to explore this research frontier with you. The link for the Q&A will be posted in the meetup page one week before the event, stay tuned.
